Teachers of India.org

Teachers of India.org

ENLIGHTENED PERSPECTIVE

I've learned.... That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.
I've learned.... That when you're in love, it shows.
I've learned.... That just one person saying to me, 'You've made my day!' makes my day.
I've learned.... That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.
I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right.
I've learned.... That you should never say no to a gift from a child.
I've learned.... That I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in some other way.
I've learned.... That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.
I've learned.... That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.
I've learned.... That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.
I've learned.... That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.
I've learned.... That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.
I've learned.... That money doesn't buy class.
I've learned.... That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.
I've learned... That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.
I've learned.... That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.
I've learned.... That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.
I've learned.... That love, not time, heals all wounds.
I've learned.... That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.
I've learned.... That everyon e you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.
I've learned.... That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.
I've learned... That life is tough, but I'm tougher.
I've learned.... That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.
I've learned.... That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.
I've learned.... That I wis h I could have told my Mom that I love her one more time before she passed away.
I've learned.... That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.
I've learned.... That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
I've learned.... That when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.
I've learned.... That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.
I've learned.... That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.

A.S.A.P

Ever wonder about the abbreviation A.S.A.P.? Generally we think of it in terms of even more hurry and stress in our lives. Maybe if we think of this abbreviation in a different manner, we will begin to find a new way to deal with those rough days along the way.

*************

There's work to do, deadlines to meet; You've got no time to spare,
But as you hurry and scurry-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.

In the midst of family chaos, "Quality time" is rare.
Do your best; let God do the rest-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.

It may seem like your worries Are more than you can bear.
Slow down and take a breather-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.

God knows how stressful life is; He wants to ease our cares, And He'll respond to all your needs A.S.A.P.
ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.

Ten Simple Steps to Loving Yourself

Ten Simple Steps to Loving Yourself

Louise Hay's famous book, 'You Can Heal Your Life' has helped countless people on the path to self discovery, and ultimately loving themselves. We humans are abundant in the excuses that we manufacture as to why we are unable to love ourselves. This underlying core belief of not being worthy stops us from reaching the very thing we say we so desperately want. It doesn't have to be that way!
You have a choice, and if you follow Louise's ten steps , you will reach the destination you have been yearning for all your life.
Remember, the secret is loving yourself , so here goes are you willing to change?
If you are, here is what you do.

1. Put an end to all criticism it never achieves or changes anything. Acceptance of yourself is key, when you approve of yourself, positive changes will come in to your life.

2. Stop thinking scary thoughts. If you find yourself doing that, change it to a mental image that brings you pleasure. Maybe thinking of your dog, a flower, food whatever brings you peace.

3. Be gentle , kind and patient. Treat yourself as you would your best friend, in fact be your best friend! Be gentle with yourself, be kind to yourself, and be patient with yourself as you learn to change your thinking.

4. Be kind to your mind. Gently change your thoughts, let go of the self hatred you are expressing with your thoughts. Don't judge or hate yourself for having those thoughts, quietly and gently change them.

5. Praise yourself. Pat yourself on the back, criticism can only break your inner spirit. Praise will build it up, so praise yourself as much as you can.

6. Be supportive. You support friends in need, do the same for yourself. If you need help ask for it, that is a sign of true strength. Allowing others to help you is self nurturing.

7. Love the negatives in your life. Own it, acknowledge that you bought them into your life to fulfill a need. Thank them for the lessons they have bought, lovingly release them, and make room for the positive ones you are creating today.

8. Love and take care of your body. Ensure that you look after your body, as well as you look after your car! So many of us would not miss the cars service, or think of putting the wrong fuel or oil into the engine, but don't give a second thought to what we fuel our bodies with. Cherish your body, and it will serve you well.

9. Look into the mirror. Really look into your eyes often, and express the love you feel for yourself, say it out loud. I love you, I really love you!

10. Do it now. Don't wait until the 'right' time to start loving yourself. The right time is now, not when you lose ten pounds, get a new job, or find a new partner. The time to start is now, all you need to do is the best you can.

What to do when you are trapped in a lift??

We never know when and where accidents will happen to us OR people around us. Read on and hope this piece of information may help any of us when things do happen to ourself, our friends and our loved ones.

.

..........One day, while in a lift, it suddenly broke down and it was falling from level 13 at a fast speed. Fortunately, I remembered watching a TV program that taught you must quickly press all the buttons for all the levels. Finally, the lift stopped at the 5th level. When you are facing life and death situations, whatever decisions or actions you make decides your survival. If you are caught in a lift breakdown, first thought in mind may be 'waiting to die'...

.

..........But after reading below, things will definitely be different the next time, if you are caught in a lift.

.

First: - Quickly press all the different levels of buttons in the lift. When the emergency electricity supply is being activated, it will stop the lift from falling further.

Second: - Hold on tight to the handle (if there is any). It is to support your position and prevent you from falling or getting hurt when you lost your balance.

Third: - Lean your back and head against the wall forming a straight line. Leaning against the wall is to use it as a support for your back/spine as protection.

Fourth: - Bend your knees Ligament is a flexible, connective tissue. Thus, the impact of fractured bones will be minimised during fall.

Why Worry?

Why Worry?

There are only two things in life to worry about:
Whether you are well or whether you are sick.

If you are well, then there is nothing to worry about .
But if you are sick, there are only two things to worry about:
Whether you are going to get well or whether you are going to die.

If you get well, then there is nothing to worry about.
But if you die, there are only two things to worry about:
Whether you are going to go to heaven or whether you are going to go to hell.

If you go to heaven, then you have nothing to worry about.
But if you go to hell, you'll be so busy shaking hands with all your friends, that you won't have time to worry!

So, Why Worry?

((:Be Happy!! :))

The Art Of Marriage

The Art Of Marriage

A good marriage must be created.

In Marriage the little things are the big things…..

It is never being too old to hold hands.

It is remembering to say “ I Love you” at least once a day.

It is never going to sleep angry.

It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.

It is standing together facing the world.

It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.

It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.

It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow.

It is not only marrying the right person, It is being the right partner.

11 Lessons In Life

11 Lessons In Life :))

1.

It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return, But what is more painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let that person know how you feel.

2.

A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was never meant to be and you just have to let go.

3.

The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

4.

It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

5.

It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone-but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

6.

Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright.

7.

Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.

8.

Always put yourself in the other's shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the person too.

9.

A careless word may kindle strife; a cruel word may wreck a life; a timely word may level stress; a loving word may heal and bless.

10.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything they just make the best of everything that comes along their way.

11.

Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with a tear.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you
were smiling.
Live your life so that when you die, you're the one
smiling and everyone around you is crying.

$100 Bill

$100 Bill
A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $100 bill.
In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $100 bill?"
Hands started going up.
He said, "I am going to give this $100 to one of you...but first, let me do this."He proceeded to crumple the $100 dollar bill up.
He then asked, "Who still wants it?"
Still the hands were up in the air.
Well, he replied, "What if I do this?"And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.
He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.
"Now, who still wants it?"Still the hands went into the air.
He continued:
"My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did notdecrease in value. It was and still is worth $100.
Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and groundinto the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstancesthat come our way. We feel as though we are worthless.
But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you willnever lose your value. Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you.
The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE.
You are special - Don't EVER forget it."

A POSITIVE THOUGHT

A POSITIVE THOUGHT

If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.

If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.

He sends you flowers every spring, and a sunrise every morning.

Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen.

He could live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.

What about the Christmas gift He sent you in Bethlehem; not to mention that Friday at Calvary.

Face it, He's crazy about you.

WE are mighty special....and we should remember . . .

God answers Knee-Mail! :)

The 7 Ups

The 7 Ups

1. Wake Up!!
Decide to have a good day."This is the day the Lord hath made;let us rejoice and be glad in it."

2. Dress Up!!
The best way to dress up is to put on a smile."The Lord does not look at the things man looks at.Man looks at outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."

3. Shut Up!!
Say nice things and learn to listen.God gave us two ears and one mouth,so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking.

4. Stand Up!!
For what you believe in.Stand for something or you will fall for anything. "Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time,we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good..."

5. Look Up!!
To the Lord. "I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me".

6. Reach Up!!
For something higher. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding." In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path
7. Lift Up!!
You’re Prayers. "Do not worry about anything; instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING."
FOLLOW YOUR BLISS

Author Joseph Campbell often talked about "following your bliss." I heard of a bus driver in Chicago who does just that. He sings while he drives. That's right... sings! And I don't mean he sings softly to himself, either. He sings so that the whole bus can hear! All day long he drives and sings.

He was once interviewed on Chicago television. He said that he is not actually a bus driver. "I'm a professional singer," he asserted. "I only drive the bus to get a captive audience every single day.

His "bliss" is not driving a bus, though that may be a source of enjoyment for some people. His bliss is singing. And the supervisors at the Chicago Transit Authority are perfectly happy about the whole arrangement. You see, people line up to ride his bus. They even let other buses pass by so they can ride with the "singing bus driver." They love it!

Here is a man who believes he knows why he was put here on earth. For him, it is to make people happy. And the more he sings, the more people he makes happy! He has found a way to align his purpose in living with his occupation. By following his bliss, he is actually living the kind of life he believes he was meant to live.

Not everybody can identify a purpose in life. But when you do, and when you pursue it, you will be living the kind of life you feel you were meant to live. And what's more, you will be happy.

5 bad food habits office-goers must change

If you, like so many of us, are so caught up with work that you have little time to watch what you eat, it's time to take a breather before your lifestyle takes its toll on your health.

Here are five bad habits which you must avoid to salvage your health.

1. Skipping breakfast

A lot of people leave home with just a cup of tea or coffee and then they wonder why they are always crabby, irritable and low on energy throughout the day.

Skipping this first, most important meal of the day is like starting a car without fuel. Your body is forced to call on its energy reserves and these do not last very long, making you irritable and snappy and lacking in concentration by the middle of the day.

What's more, you will end up eating a lot more servings or calorie-dense foods at lunch, which will cause your sugar levels to go up and then come crashing down, making you feel sluggish and tired.

Solution : A good breakfast does not have to be elaborate; a glass of skimmed milk with 2 handfuls of corn or wheat flakes and a fruit will suffice. For hot breakfast lovers, an egg, two slices of bread and a fruit or a bowl of oatmeal porridge accompanied by a fruit are enough.

2. Drinking too much tea/coffee

Sipping constantly can be a tough habit to break. But too much of either tea or coffee can do two things:

  • It may leave you feeling jittery, irritable, dehydrated, and even interrupt your sleep pattern at night so you do not get deep sleep or do not feel rested the next day.
  • If taken with your meals, tea and coffee inhibit the absorption of iron from your food. Your body throws out the nutrient as waste.
Solution : If you cannot cut down on the number of cups, cut down on the size of cups so you drink half the quantity. If you have a choice, opt for water.

3. Not drinking enough water

Most corporate offices are air-conditioned, so we do not really sweat and therefore, do not feel so thirsty. What's more when you are used to drinking water below your requirement, your body adapts and when you do start drinking a little more water, your body treats it as excess -- in fact, initially, the body actually throws it out causing you to run to the toilet every few minutes.

In the long run, not drinking enough water can cause constipation, indigestion, gas, increased hunger pangs, dehydration and can make your skin look dull too.

Solution : Keep a 1 litre bottle of water at your table and aim to finish it before the end of the day. It may take you two to three days to adapt to an increased dose but when you do, you will notice the positive benefits immediately -- better skin, better bowel movements and better control on your hunger pangs.

4. Eating at odd hours

While you cannot be expected to leave in the middle of a meeting because the clock says lunch time, it is definitely possible to try to have a somewhat regular meal timing for the majority of the days in the week.

Having a somewhat fixed meal time helps keep your metabolic rate up and can help prevent gas and acidity, which result from long gaps between meals.

Timely eating will also prevent you from overeating as once your body is used to getting energy at a particular hour, it will stop demanding food at odd hours.

Solution : Try to have a fixed time-frame in which you can have your meal peacefully and finish it in a matter of 15 to 20 minutes.

5. Weekend binging

Most of us put in endless hours during the week eating whatever is available, and then comes the weekend. We go on another binge that we feel we deserve. Hard drinks along with food add to the damage we cause to our health in the long run.

Solution : Try to take some time to relax at the end of each day and don't wait for the weekend to unwind. Take a relaxing massage, watch a movie or a play or read a good book. Eating is not the only way to pamper yourself!

Life Is Too Short To Waste Time Hating Anyone

A story tells that two friends

were walking

through the desert

During some point of the

Journey they had an

Argument, and one friend

Slapped the other one

In the face.

The one who got slapped

was hurt, but without

saying anything,

wrote in the sand:

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND

SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE
.

They kept on walking

until they found an oasis,

where they decided

to take a bath.

The one who had been

slapped got stuck in the

mire and started drowning,

but the friend saved him.

After he recovered from

the near drowning,

he wrote on a stone:

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND

SAVED MY LIFE.

The friend who had slapped

and saved his best friend

asked him, "After I hurt you,

you wrote in the sand and now,

you write on a stone, why?"

The other friend replied

"When someone hurts us

we should write it down

in sand where winds of

forgiveness can erase it away.

But, when someone does

something good for us,

we must engrave it in stone

where no wind

can ever erase it."

LEARN TO WRITE

YOUR HURTS IN

THE SAND AND TO

CARVE YOUR

BENEFITS IN STONE!!!

They say it takes a

minute to find a special

person, an hour to

appreciate them, a day

to love them, but then

an entire life

to forget them.

Take the time to live!

Do not value the THINGS

you have in your life. But value

WHO you have in your life!

Happiness is not something you find, it's something you create…"

Love and Marriage

" The Season of Failure is the Best Time for Sowing the Seeds of Success."

A student asks a teacher, "What is love?"

The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the wheat field and choose the biggest wheat and come back. But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick."

The student went to the field, go thru first row, he saw one big wheat, but he wonders..may be there is a bigger one later. Then he saw another bigger one.. but may be there is an even bigger one waiting for him.Later, when he finished more than half of the wheat field, he start to realize that the wheat is not as big as the previous one he saw, he know he has missed the biggest one, and he regretted. So, he ended up went back to the teacher with empty hand.

The teacher told him, "..this is love.. you keep looking for a better one, but when later you realize, you have already miss the person.."

"What is marriage then?" the student asked.

The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the corn field and choose the biggest corn and come back. But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick."

The student went to the corn field, this time he is careful not to repeat the previous mistake, when he reach the middle of the field, he has picked one medium corn that he feel satisfy, and come back to the teacher. The teacher told him, "this time you bring back a corn.. you look for one that is just nice, and you have faith and believe this is the best one you get.. this is marriage."

Law on arresting a woman :

An incident took place in Hyderabad - a young girl was attacked by a man posing as a plain clothes officer; he asked her 2 come 2 the police station when she & her male friend didn't have a driver's license 2 show. He sent the boy off 2 get his license and asked the girl to accompany him to the police station. Took her instead to an isolated area where the horrendous crime was committed.
The law [which most of us are not aware of] clearly states that between 6 pm and 6 am (from sunset until sunrise), a woman has the right to REFUSE to go to the Police Station , even if an arrest warrant has been issued against her. It is a procedural issue that a woman can be arrested between 6pm and 6am, if and ONLY iff she is arrested by a woman officer & taken to an ALL WOMEN police station.. And if she is arrested by a male officer, it has to be proven that a woman officer was on duty at the time of arrest.
Please fwd this 2 as many girls you know on your mailing list . Also! 2 boys coz this can help them protect their wives, friends, sisters and mothers. It is good for us to know our rights.
